Nobel nominations in physics (1900–1966): The experience of an initial systematization

The paper analyzes the nominees for Nobel Prize in physics from 1900 to 1966 that did not result in awards. Based on the data from the Nomination Archive of the Nobel Foundation that had been made available on the internet, 357 such nominees in physics were identified. An initial systematization of this list of nominees was carried out, specifying their achievements in science and technology that could most likely have been the reasons for their nominations and the most informative sources of data about the nominees.
