History of physics for graduate students: Pedagogical observations


The essay discusses several approaches to teaching the graduate course “History and philosophy of science.” The structure of the existing standard course reflects the predominance of philosophical problematic and a near absence of history of science as a separate academic discipline. The author shares his personal experience of teaching the history of physical sciences section of the course to graduate students at the Nizhny Novgorod research center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
